  • The Beach Run Festival 2021 saw thousands of people turn out to run on Sunset Beach and compete in the beach sports tournaments.

Runners were queuing up outside the festival village to take part in the fifth edition of the Beach Run Festival, which was being held for the first time since 2019.

Held in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council, the event saw runners take part in three different distances – 7.2km Advanced Run, 3.6km Fun Run and 1.8km Family Run. Over 1,500 runners took part in the runs with hundreds more competing in the new beach sports tournaments, organised in collaboration with Sports Mania. The tournaments included beach football, volleyball, basketball, teqball and tennis.

Lululemon held a number of warm ups prior to each event to ensure runners were stretched and ready to run on the sand without risking injury. Lululemon also provided prizes for the winners of the beach sports tournaments.

Inside the festival village attendees mingled by the food trucks, DJ set and kids had the chance to get their faces painted, while soaking up the morning sun. After completing the run participants posed by the photo wall.

Radio star Kris Fade made an appearance and took photos with fans at the Fade Fit stand where goodies were also being handed out.
