  • A host of sporting stars are celebrating on 29 April.

    Andre Agassi, generally considered by critics and fellow players to be one of the greatest tennis players of all time, turns 45 today

    The Las Vegas-born star is an eight-time Grand Slam champion and a 1996 Olympic gold medalist, as well as finishing runner-up in seven other Grand Slam tournaments. During the Open Era, Agassi is the first male player to win four Australian Open titles.

    Agassi is one of five male singles players to achieve the Career Grand Slam in the Open Era and one of seven in history, the first of two to achieve the Career Golden Grand Slam (Career Grand Slam and Olympic Gold Medal) and the only man to win the Career Golden Grand Slam and the ATP Tour World Championships.

    Here’s who else is celebrating their birthday from the sporting world:

    1977: Titus O’Neil – is a wrestler and ex-professional football player. He is signed to the WWE after playing for the Arena Football League (39).

    1983: Jay Cutler – is quarterback for the Chicago Bears in the NFL. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft (33).

    1983: David Lee – Basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. Lee is a two-time All-Star and All-NBA Team member, and won an NBA championship with the Warriors in 2015 (33).

    1987: Sara Errani – Italian tennis player who has won nine career singles titles and 25 career doubles titles (29).
