  • The ninth round of the 2023 Formula One season is done and dusted.

Red Bull extended their commanding lead at the top of the constructors’ championship while Max Verstappen’s dominance in the drivers’ championship is even more pronounced.

With plenty of action at the Austrian Grand Prix, here are the Top 10 stats you need to know…

    1. With Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton finishing P2 and P3 respectively, it was the first time two British drivers featured on the Silverstone podium since David Coulthard and Eddie Irvine in 1999.

    2. Five teams have led an opening lap this season – Red Bull, Aston Martin, Mercedes, Ferrari, and McLaren, the most we’ve witnessed in a single season since 2009.

    3. Almost a third of Max Verstappen’s starts with Red Bull have been race victories – 43 wins in 150 starts.

    4. It was also his eighth hat-trick in F1, the joint-most by a Red Bull driver.

    5. All of those eleven podiums have been either P1 or P2 finishes. Only Hamilton (12) and Schumacher (15) have had longer streaks.

    6. Only Schumacher has more podium finishes (17) from the start of the season compared to Verstappen’s ten.

    7. With P7, Fernando Alonso recorded his tenth consecutive points finish.

    8. Verstappen has won all of the last five races from pole position. The most recent driver to claim five or more consecutive victories from pole was Michael Schumacher in 2000-01.

    9. Sergio Perez has not made it to Q3 in each of the last five races. He’s accumulated just 51 points in that period whereas Verstappen has 136 to his name.

    10. With just ten races in, McLaren became the sixth team to take a podium this year.
