  • The ninth round of the 2023 Formula One season is upon us!

    Red Bull hold a commanding lead at the top of the constructors’ championship while Max Verstappen’s dominance in the drivers’ championship is even more pronounced.

    With the fastest cars and drivers in motorsport ready to zip around the track again at the British Grand Prix, here are the Top 10 stats you need to know…

    1. The Silverstone race has been won from outside the front row only twice in the hybrid era- LewisHamilton (from P6 in 2014) and Max Verstappen (from P4 in 2020).

    2. Max Verstappen is set to make his 150th race start for Red Bull, joining a select group of drivers who have achieved this milestone with one team – David Coulthard (150 with McLaren), Kimi Raikkonen(151 with Ferrari), Michael Schumacher (179 with Ferrari), and Lewis Hamilton (209 with Mercedes).

    3. The reigning champion has won the last five rounds (a personal best) and has never wonsixsuccessive races in his career.

    4. Red Bull’s incredible winning streak puts them in serious contention to break the recordfor themostconsecutive wins by a constructor. They have already scored ten straight victories and arejust onewinaway from matching McLaren’s record of 11 consecutive wins set back in 1988.

    5. If both Red Bull drivers secure a podium result at Silverstone, it would mark the team’s 250th podiuminF1. They’d become only the fifth team to do so after Ferrari, McLaren, Williams, and Mercedes.

    6. Ferrari is the most successful constructor on British soil, having secured 16 pole positionsand18victories here.

    7. No driver has taken more wins at this venue than home hero Lewis Hamilton – 8 times.

    8. A Mercedes car has finished in the podium spots in each of the last 11 races at Silverstone

    9. One more victory this Sunday could see him become the first driver to win at a circuit onnineseparateoccasions. It would also put him on par with Michael Schumacher (9 in Germany) for themost winsonhome soil.

    10. Nico Hulkenberg has scored in the last eight British races he’s started dating back 2013.
