  • The ninth round of the 2023 Formula One season is done and dusted.

Red Bull extended their commanding lead at the top of the constructors’ championship while Max Verstappen’s dominance in the drivers’ championship is even more pronounced.

With plenty of action at the Austrian Grand Prix, here are the Top 10 stats you need to know…

    1. Max Verstappen has been victorious in four of the eight Sprints so far. He’s the only one to win the event in each year of its existence.

    2. He surpassed Ayrton Senna to secure his 42nd victory, placing him among the top five all time winners in F1.

    3. Since the start of 2021, Verstappen has accumulated as many wins (32) as Fernando Alonso has achieved in the past two decades.

    4. Verstappen bagged the maximum points available from a race weekend (34). He’s the only driver to do it twice, having done so in Imola last year as well. George Russell is the only other driver to achieve this feat.

    5. With a P9 finish, Lance Stroll (238 pts) is now Canada’s top points scorer in F1 surpassing Jacques Villeneuve (235 pts).

    6. P2 is Charles Leclerc’s and Ferrari’s best result of the season.

    7. Leclerc’s podium finish also marked Ferrari’s 800th podium in the sport as a constructor. Their very first podium came at the 1950 Monaco GP, courtesy of Ascari.

    8. P8 is Lewis Hamilton’s lowest finish in Austria.

    9. Lando Norris maintains his 100% scoring streak in Austria, having finished in the top-seven every single time he’s raced here.

    10. Having won each of the last five races, this is Verstappen’s joint-best win streak in F1.
