  • Fun for everyone: There are six categories for enthusiasts according to their fitness levels.

Wadi Adventure will be hosting its sixth edition of the hugely successful “Wadi Adventure Race” (WAR) series – a gruelling 10km obstacle course, where participants run, crawl, carry, swim, swing and climb their way to the finish line.

Located at the foot of Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, you will find Wadi Adventure – the only man-made rafting, kayaking and surfing facility in the Gulf region.

The action takes place on Saturday April 5, which will see WAR hit an all-time high as popularity for the event grows among racers, spectators and event sponsors alike.

It will be the biggest and most exciting edition to date with new course development and obstacles.

With space for 1,000 runners and free entry for spectators arriving before 09:00, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

“It’s awesome to see how much the WAR has grown,” says Sean Kinsella, race creator. “We had 75 racers and a handful of spectators for the first edition. Now, the sixth edition is gearing up to host the most runners of any WAR event where we will have hundreds of spectators and more event sponsors than we’ve ever had.

“It’s becoming an event that’s attracting runners from around the world.”

Nora Hassan, Wild Adventure’s marketing manager, says it’s the perfect opportunity for people to test their fitness abilities.

“This is a great opportunity for the fitness community to come together for a day of excitement, fun and a test of true athletic ability.”

With the popularity of the event growing, organisers are expecting a large turnout and, therefore more categories have been introduced.

There will be six categories with various fitness levels – Elite, A, B, C, D and E.

The Elite category will be for the super fit participants looking to win the race, while category E will be for those who want to challenge themselves and the finish grueling course.

Participants will not know what to expect until they see the obstacles they have to overcome during the course, which adds to the excitement to the race.

The only piece of information they will know before the race will be the route map which will bereleased one week before the event.

The minimum age is 16 and over, and registration fee is Dh225 per person which includes a race shirt, a goodie bag, after-race snacks and all day admission.
