  • Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is plotting the club’s next big signing, with £330million earmarked for a ‘galactico’, according to Spanish publication AS.

Los Blancos were looking to bring in a big-name player in the summer following Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus, with the Spanish giants linked with Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Eden Hazard.

The Paris Saint-Germain duo are believed to be high up on Real’s list ahead of next summer.

Real reportedly have €372m available, “€190 million plus credit of €182 million at a highly competitive variable rate of interest,” according to the club treasurer’s report.

Real found it impossible to lure Neymar or Mbappe to the Bernabeu this summer. The Brazilian is said to have wanted the move but PSG owner Nasser Al Khelaifi got tough and Neymar forgot about it.

These figures suggest Real Madrid have the ability to bring in a galactico, or two, in the coming years, but Perez is looking to indebt the club to the tune of €575m to renovate the Bernabeu.

That could leave the club in a delicate position moving forward when it comes to making big signings.
