Pakistan batsman Azhar Ali’s run-out in the second Test in Abu Dhabi against Australia drew quite a few laughs.
Azhar was run out after he edged a Peter Siddle delivery on Thursday towards the third man boundary and, thinking the ball had crossed the rope, stopped in the middle of the pitch and started to talk to fellow batsman Asad Shafiq.
However, Mitchell Starc picked up the ball and threw it back to wicketkeeper Tim Paine who ran Azhar out. It was an embarrassing moment for the veteran Pakistan batsman who expects his son to tease him about the dismissal for years to come.
Have you ever seen anything like it? Azhar Ali was run out in the strangest of circumstances earlier today! 😲 #PAKvAUS pic.twitter.com/s2WbostY10

But if you thought that run out was funny, take a look at the latest one from New Zealand.
Otago’s Nathan Smith got dismissed following an embarrassing run-out during his team’s Plunket Shield game in Wellington.

His partner Michael Rippon glided a Hamish Bennett ball to fine leg and took off for a double.
However the South African-born batsman slipped at the non-striker’s end, forcing Smith to stop suddenly, which made him slip as well. Both batsmen were on the ground at the non-striker’s end as the run-out was completed by the keeper.
