    7:00pm – Bangladesh set India a target of 223 runs in Asia Cup final

    Bangladesh’s innings in the Asia Cup final against India at Dubai has drawn to a close. The Tigers have been bowled out for 222 runs in 48-3 overs with Kuldeep Yadav picking up three scalps for India.

    Liton Das was the star of Bangladesh’s innings with the opener slamming his maiden ODI ton.

    5:00pm – Shakib Al Hasan undergoes surgery on injured finger

    Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has confirmed he underwent surgery on his injured finger after returning home early from the Asia Cup.

    He missed the 37-run victory against Pakistan on Wednesday as well as Friday’s final against India after pain of his left little finger, which occurred during the Sri Lanka series, resurfaced.

    2:00pm – PCB refute former Pakistan fielding coach’s allegations

    The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has come out to refute allegations made by former fielding coach Steve Rixon.

    In a recent interview with Fairfax Media, Rixon had criticised the PCB for a ‘lack of professionalism’ and delay in payments of his salary.

    1:30pm – D’Arcy Short slams third highest List A score in history

    D’Arcy Short wrote himself into the record books with a 148-ball 257 for Western Australia in their JLT One-Day Cup match against Queensland on Friday.

    The left-handed opener struck a record 23 sixes in his innings to lead Western Australia to a 116-run win in Sydney.

    1:00pm – Mohammad Abbas retained by Leicestershire for 2019 season

    Pakistan seamer Mohammad Abbas will return as Leicestershire County Cricket Club’s overseas player in the 2019 season, the club announced on Friday.

    The 28-year-old has had an impressive maiden stint in the County Championship Division Two this year with a total of 50 wickets at an outstanding average of 17.72.

    11:20am – Mohammad Amir dropped from Pakistan Test squad

    Pacer Mohammad Amir was dropped as Pakistan announced its 17-man squad for the two-Test series against Australia to be held in the UAE.

    Amir’s exclusion comes after the pacer was unable to pick a single wicket in the Asia Cup where Pakistan crashed out of the Super Four stage with defeat to Bangladesh.

    The star India wicketkeeper batsman has been off colour with the bat of late with just 189 runs in nine ODI innings so far in 2018.
