Khan fires Bukhatir XI to Ramadan Cup win over Ramada Hotel

    At Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Bukhatir XI innings was propped up by half centuries from Khalid Shah and Shiraz Ahmed as they reached 202-5. In reply, Ramada were bowled out for 108 in the 16th over.

    Bukhatir XI were off to a promising start with openers Abdullah Azhar and Khalid Shah adding 35 runs for the first wicket. But it was the partnership for the second which put them in a strong position.

    Shah (79 in 53 balls) and Shiraz Ahmed (54 in 34 balls) dealt in boundaries and sixes as they put on an impressive 121 runs in less than 10 overs.

    Chasing an imposing target, Ramada lost two quick wickets to Justin James. Zaman Shaikh (19) and Shabnam Amjad (45) tried to repair the damage. But the introduction of Shamroz Khan (5-12) opened the floodgates as he claimed four wickets in his third over, including the hat-trick.

    In the Al Dhaid Ramadan Cup, Shah turned up for SCC Academy and smashed a century, only for Ashley Lobo to match the feat for Desert Cubs as they played out a thrilling tie.

    Set a huge target of 215 to win by SCC Academy thanks to opener Shah who smashed a superb 117 in just 52 balls, Cubs opener Lobo kept his side in the game with an unbeaten 121 from just 70 deliveries.

    He was well supported by Tharaka Samaratunga (30), ArunaI mandra (21) and Lionel Soans (25), but they could not find the winning runs as they were restricted to 214- 4 in their 20 overs.
